After her victory in the Austro-Prussian War in 1866, Prussia kicked Austria out of its ruling place over the German nation and took over in her stead. Prussia united various scattered German provinces under a majority Prussian rule, creating the German Empire. At first Germany got in good with the European community, forming alliances, suppressing French power, and taking African holdings. However, imperialist notions in Germany began to chafe her neighbors; alliances collapsed, and were renewed without Germany's inclusion. It seems as if the entirety of Europe is aligning itself against the anticipated aggressor, Kaiser Eric Meinhardt's German Empire.
